Corine Bernice Johnson

Corine married her sweetheart, Bob G. Johnson on September 10, 1948. From this union came four children: Janet, Earl Gene, Marla and Vicki. Corine and Bob were married 71 wonderful years until Bob’s passing October 24, 2019.

Corine had lived her formative years in Vinita and after starting a family, in 1965 the family moved to Jones, Oklahoma. Then around 2015, Bob and Corine moved to Oklahoma City.

Corine had worked at AT&T for 30 years upon her retirement.

In her spare time Corine enjoyed traveling or a quiet day fishing on the lake. She found great joy in the simple things of life like the crazy things her kids and grandkids would do to make her laugh. She taught those around her respect, kindness, and unconditional love. She was a fierce domino player and loved playing cards and bingo, too. Up to her very end she was sharp as a tack!

Corine is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Bob G. Johnson, son Earl Gene Johnson, son-in-law Marvin Cartmill, five siblings, and grandchildren Sherry Stevens, Allen Keyes and Gayle Starnes and great grandchild Wyatt Dunn.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Janet Cartmill of Harrah, OK, Marla Starnes and husband Larry Starnes of Early, TX, Vicki Ernsting and husband Eric Ernsting of Piedmont, OK; daughter-in-law Antje Johnson of Cement, OK; grandchildren Bobby Dunn, Renell Conner, Stefan Knudson, Tammie Knudson, Collyn Keyes, Kilie Lopez and Robert Ernsting, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Corine’s name to First Baptist Church of Okarche.

A service to celebrate Corine’s life will be April 15, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, 106 Stroh Avenue, Okarche, OK 73762
