Clyde Eugene Aday was born in Shawnee, OK on August 13, 1942 to Sidney and Mary Jane (Thomason) Aday. He attended Shawnee High School and following his schooling, he enlisted in the US. Army and was stationed in Germany. He returned stateside and was honorably discharged after suffering an arm injury.
Clyde enrolled in Okmulgee Tech where he studied accounting. On June 30, 1964 he married the love of his life Sharon Kay Cope and soon after they moved to Mesquite, TX where he worked as an accountant. A couple of years later they moved back to Oklahoma. Clyde accepted a position as an accountant at Kerr-Mcgee. In 1995, Clyde retired after 20+ years of service, but soon found that retirement wasn’t as fun as he had hoped it would be.
Soon after leaving Kerr-McGee he joined the team at Sears Auto Center where he made many friends during his 24+ years he was employed there. He finally retired for good in 2004. Clyde spent the next few years caring for his beloved wife, who would go on to pass away on December 18, 2010.
Clyde was an easygoing guy who enjoyed his computer games, watching his tv shows, and giving his friends and family a hard time with his dry, witty sense of humor. All of his friends and family knew that his door was always open. Clyde was generous and never missed a chance to put others before himself. He truly left a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love for his family to emulate. He left his mark on this world and he’ll be missed by everyone who loved him.
Clyde Aday was a dedicated husband, a caring father, a proud grandpa, a great grandfather, protective brother, and a loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his soulmate Kay Aday, a grandson Joshua Aday, and his five sisters: Norma, Helen, Wanda , Betty, and Josie; a brother Roland.
Clyde is survived by his children: Larie Cosby and husband Ronnie, Cliff Aday and wife Stacy, and Clint Aday.
