Charles Edward Odom passed away on September 20, 2022 peacefully in his home. Charles was born on November 6, 1930 and was the oldest of nine siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Odom and Nettie Boothe-Odom and six siblings and is survived by sisters, Jean Raegan, Mary Beverly, Carolyn Lee, and True Chapman.
He married the love of his life, Molly Edith Kendrick-Odom, in 1951 and was excited to be reunited in Heaven with her and their children, Charlotte Kenyon and Tommy Odom.
Charles is survived by granddaughters Elizabeth Kelley, Ashley Morgan, and Summer Gilstrap. Charles was also a proud Papa to great-grandchildren Michela Anderson, Nicholas Cheney, Matthew Cheney, Caitlyn Hanna, Abigail Hanna, Landon Gilstrap and Lucas Gilstrap, as well as his only great-great granddaughter Iyla Blake.
He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, church family and former colleagues. As he used to text his granddaughters nightly, he is now “Home, all okay”.
A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Village Baptist Church, 10600 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73120 with a graveside service to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
