Carolyn “Kaye” Parrott passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at the age of 82, surrounded by family and friends. Together, with her husband of 47 years, Kaye raised her two daughters and was a loving grandparent. A natural homemaker, she loved to sew, cook, and make crafts, and was a devoted Christian, active in the North MacArthur Church of Christ for more than 40 years.
Kaye served as a secretary with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health until her retirement. She spent much of her retirement as a member of Redbud Sam’s RV Club and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband and their two beloved schnauzers. Kaye loved to make people laugh, often by dressing up in costumes. She also loved dancing and playing the spoons and washboard in what she called “a rag-tag group of silly old folks.” She was strong, bold, goofy, “stubborn as a mule,” and very much loved.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wiley Parrott, and her daughter Kelli Braden. She is survived by her sister Jan Massey, daughter and son-in-law Miki and Tom Joe Finnin, grandchildren Kaylee Campbell, Collin Campbell, Dwayne Braden, Timothy Cramer, eight great-grandchildren, and her “Mexican daughter” Beatriz Orantez-De Pediero.
There is now a hole in this world, but heaven is celebrating.
Viewing to take place Friday, June 25, 2021 from 4-8 p.m., and service to be held Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m., at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City.
