Bob Snavely was born on Dec. 8th, 1953 at Tinker Air Force Base, OK to Jack Snavely and Charlene Brooks. He shortly became big brother to Paula Snavely, Pamela Snavely, and Peggy (Snavely) Williams. After graduating Altus High School in 1972, he followed his father's footsteps and joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for six years at Tinker Air Force Base, the same place as his birth. After leaving the service he went into driving trucks until retiring from U.S FoodService after 38 years. In 1994 he married Linda (Heinrich) Snavely. He was blessed with his children Jeff Snavely, Brenda (Snavely) Carey, and Kristi Snavely from his previous marriage to Connie Snavely, Chris Heinrich, and the two grandchildren he raised as his own Brandy Heinrich and Cory Heinrich.
Bob loved racing, cars, music, and building things. He really was a Jack of all trades. His love for racing began before he accidently drag raced a cop as a teen and continued long after his last race in his #18 stock car. Nascar and racing in general was a passion for him. He loved sharing his talent for singing and playing numerous instruments like his guitars, fiddle, harmonica, and drums. Music was a love he held dear. His dry sense of humor would get you everytime. You always knew when he had something to say by the twinkling look of mischievous laughter that was hard to forget in his eyes. He was a quiet stoic man by nature, but never hesitated to speak his mind.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Charlene, his sister Sherry, and his grandson Donald who we have no doubt were waiting on him at the pearly gates to welcome him home.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 29 years; his children Jeff, Brenda, Kristi, and Chris; his children in law David Carey, Melissa Heinrich, and Brian Fain; and his grandchildren Brandy, Cory, William, Samuel, Aleecia, Jonathan, Zachary, Valarie, Tylar, Kiara, father Jack, sisters Paula, Pamela, and Peggy, and too many more family and friends to count.
