Barbara Ann Carter, Edmond, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 21, 2023 at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Barbara was born in Fontanelle, Nebraska on July 11, 1933 to Homer Webster and Elsie Munice Davis. She was a graduate of Fremont High School in 1951 and went on to attend college classes. It was in Fremont that she met and married Willis Gordon Ludlow. Barbara and Gordon shared a happy life raising three children until Gordon’s unexpected death in 1976. Barbara later met and married George Benjamin Carter III, MD. Both absolutely adored and cherished each other until his untimely death in 1999. Barbara was very active throughout her life and loved among many things sailing, golf, tennis, traveling, dinner club, and bridge. She was a Hornets/Thunder season ticket holder for many years. She was involved in the community and loved attending the OKC Broadway Series, enjoyed being part of the Tarpley Tap Dancers, twice performing at the OKC Arts Festival. Perhaps most importantly, a long-time member of Faith Bible Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Barbara loved all music, especially Tom Jones, The Mamas and The Papas, Bobby Darrin, Big Band music and other 50’s and 60’s rock & roll. She will be best remembered for her faith in the Lord God, her compassionate, kind and loving spirit. She was a devoted wife and mother and a true friend to those in her life. She was a spirited world traveler and dedicated shoe shopper (having Neiman Marcus on speed dial). She truly loved being a grandmother and was famous for her homemade pumpkin pie.
