Birdie Ann Hibbard, aged 66, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning on December 31, 2022 with family members by her side after battling many health issues for several years. She was born in Oklahoma City on January 30, 1956 to David Daniel Dudley and Maxine Estell Beth. Her mother passed away when she was two, and her beloved father passed away when she was nine – she often said she would always be a “Daddy’s Girl.” Ann was the youngest of five children; her siblings are David Alvin Isaacs, Charles Percival Isaacs, Cheri Beth Dudley (Lee), and Becky Lynn Dudley (Gomersall).
Ann overcame many adverse obstacles in life and received her GED in her early 20’s and then her diploma in Administrative Assistance from Dickenson Business School in her late 20’s. She always worked hard and sacrificed many personal needs and wants to ensure that her children were able to have everything they needed and often wanted. Ann worked for the State of Oklahoma for many years – working for the Oklahoma Tax Commission, the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission, and then finally the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System where she retired.
When she was approximately thirteen-years-old, Ann had a life-saving encounter with her Savior, Jesus Christ, Whom she loved with all of her heart, which left her with a strong desire to be in His Presence one day. At approximately fifteen-years-old, she had another life-changing experience when she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and other spiritual gifts in a miraculous church service at what became her lifelong church. Through everything life threw at her, she ensured that her children knew of a Savior and that He, alone, is the perfect, steadfast Cornerstone upon which they are to build their lives and spiritual foundation. They are immensely grateful to her for leading them to their Savior and to a Message that teaches them how to love Him with all of their heart, mind, and soul.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Doy Gene Hibbard, and her youngest daughter, Tanya Jean (Hibbard) Leasure. Ann has two remaining children, Angelic Estelle (Prince) Hayes – husband, Richard – of Indianapolis, Indiana and her son, David Eugene Prince, of Piedmont, Oklahoma. She leaves behind six grandchildren – Audrianna Estelle (Hayes) Davis – husband Gabriel; Robert Anthony Quinnlan Leasure, Zoie Savannah Hayes, Nathaniel David Hayes, William David Prince, and Erick Alexander Hayes. She also leaves behind too many first, second, and third nieces and nephews to name individually here. She loved all of them dearly. She also leaves behind a large and loving church family she held so very close to her heart since she was fifteen years old.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral home at 13313 N. Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. There will be a Celebration of Life Home-Going service for Ann at 2:00 p.m. at her lifelong church, Christ Gospel Church, on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The church address is 308 N.
