Harry G. Butterfield passed away on November 11, 2024. He was a beloved, devoted, and hard-working individual whose presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There will be a Celebration of Life held on July 19, 2025 at the Mitchell Camp.
He was born on June 11, 1945 in Potsdam to Arthur and Grace (Finley) Butterfield. He attended Morristown Central for his education, and later married Cynthia Montroy which ended in divorce.
Harry dedicated 13 years of his life working in the mines, spent many years farming, and later worked construction with Wayne Latham and other construction companies. One of his most fond building projects included the Destiny Mall in Syracuse. Harry retired in 2007 to spend more time with his family.
He is survived by his longtime companion Brenda (Masters) LoBello; his children: Michelle (Fred) Horton of Ocala, FL, Debra (Edward) Horton of Morristown, Chris (Sandra) Butterfield of Goose Creek, SC, Jason (Kayti) Butterfield of Brier Hill, NY, John (Jen) Wilson of Ottawa, IL, Mike (Cindy) Wilson of Dixon, MS, Brian (Mary) Wilson of Ottawa, IL, and Kevin (Melonie) Wilson of Ottawa, IL. Additionally, he is survived by 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brother’s Ross Butterfield of Theresa, NY, Tony Butterfield of Ogdensburg; sister’s Pamela Butterfield of Ogdensburg, Verna Barley of Ogdensburg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Harry was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, John, and Vernon Butterfield, and three sisters, Hazel Wing, Iva Meashaw, and Martha LaPar.
In life, Harry enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, socializing with friends, and building projects. His family will forever remember his loving ways and personality.
