Geraldine R. Turner

Funeral services for Geraldine R. Turner, age 83 of Heuvelton will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday (Sept 8, 2016) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton.

Calling hours will be held also on Thursday from 12:00 – 3:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Turner passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday (Sept 5, 2016).

Surviving are four sons Michael Turner & his companion Helen Parody of Antwerp, William Turner & his wife Lisa of Gainesville TX, John Turner & his wife Tara of Trinity NC, Scott Turner & his wife Sonya of Heuvelton; five daughters Barbara Culver & her husband Scott of Asheboro NC, Julie Turner of Burlington NC, Susan Russell & her husband Randy of Thacker Ville NC, Rose Turner of Lexington NC & Diane Bango & her companion Shane Matteson of Philadelphia NY; 17 grandchildren; 14- great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Geraldine was predeceased by her husband John Turner and a son Richard Turner.

She was born on November 1, 1932 in Theresa NY, a daughter of the late Arnold & Ruth (Jones) Freeman. She attended Theresa High School and later married John J. Turner on July 30, 1950 in Waterloo NY. Geraldine worked at Mack’s Hotel, Hawks Camp Sites and was a caregiver for the elderly while raising her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren, playing bingo, gardening, baking and traveling.
