Melvin Paul Miller was born to George Lee and Mary Elizabeth Miller in Pampa, Texas, on January 10, 1934. He remained in Pampa throughout childhood, and in his freshman year of high school met the love of his life, Annie Guy Thompson. They went steady until graduation and got married on December 13, 1952.
Paul spent 38 years as a mechanic for Texaco. The job took him to several different locations over the years, and in each new location Paul and Ann were faithful to God’s call on their life to plant a mission church. They served faithfully at each of the three baptist churches they planted, and Paul served as a deacon and cared for the church body with faithfulness and love. It was his joy to also lead singing at all of these churches, and the way his full, booming voice filled a room will be remembered always by those that knew and loved him.
Paul spent his life serving the Lord and loving his wife, three children, and his growing extended family. He loved working hard and working with his hands, and created beautiful things that he gifted to his loved ones often. His faith, strength, and love shaped the lives of his family and others that had the privilege to know him well.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annie Guy Miller; siblings: David Miller and Pat Scott; children: Pam Carlton and husband Rick, Bill Miller and wife Christy, David Stewart and wife, Becky; as well as by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Miller; his siblings, Golda Stewart, Gorda Baten, OJ Miller, Rosie Bigham; and his great grandson, Tyler Gamble.
