Maria G. Carrasco

Maria G. Carrasco, Our beloved Nana, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has passed on to be with the Lord in Heaven. She died Wednesday February 20, 2013 at the age of 79 and in the care of The Hospice House here in Odessa.. She was born in Balmorhea, TX, on June 6, 1933 to Jose and Gregoria Garcia Guebara, She united in Marriage to the love of her life: Luis Carrasco on August 28, 1951 in Saragosa ,Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Gregoria G. Guebara, two brothers Guillermo “Willie” Guebara and Rodolfo “Fito” Guebara. She was a Christian Catholic,a home-maker and a wonderful great cook who enjoyed the company of her grandkids and great -grandkids. She was always doing things for family members and friends in need. She never met a stranger and would always strike up a conversation with anyone that crossed her path. Any friends or family members of her daughters or son-in-laws were treated as family members by her. Mama, We Will Always Love you and Thank you for all the cherished memories you gave us..

She is survived by loving husband of 62 years, Luis Carrasco, daughter, Yolanda Esparza and husband Mike Esparza of Fort Worth, son George Carrasco of Odessa, daughter Sylvia Aguirre and husband Roy Aguirre of Odessa, TX; grandchildren Yvonne Tijerina and husband Juan Tijerina of Murphy, TX, Steven Esparza and wife Clarissa of San Antonio, TX, Melinda “Mindy” Esparza and Jeff Myers of Odessa, TX; great-grandchildren Daniella, Jonathan, and Ava Tijerina; Liam Luis and Aleese Marie Esparza and Noah James Meyers due in May, 2013 and sister Aida Brijalba of Odessa, TX. and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends. We the Carrasco Family would like to take this time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you for all your prayers, floral, food offerings and especially your presence with us during this most difficult time. A special gratitude to the whole family for tending to her and offering your loving care during these last weeks. We would also like to extend our gratitude to The Hospice House who took great care and comforted her in her last days. May God Bless You All Abundantly. Pallbearers will be: Steven Esparza, Juan Tijerina, Jeff Meyers, Mark Matta , Christian Ramirez, and Gabriel Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Tijerina and Liam Esparza. Viewing will be held today Sunday February 24, 2013 from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at Odessa Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 25th, 2013 at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with reverend: Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment to follow Ector County Cemetery The Los Angeles Section.
