Lonnie Lee Young passed away on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 in Midland, TX. He was born on November 6, 1936 in Stamford, TX to the late Cecil Vator Young and Velma Fay Whitworth. Lonnie was quickly followed by the birth of a younger sister, Carolyn Fay Young, and a younger brother, Cecil Richard/Dick Young.
Lonnie Lee attended Pecos High School and married his high school sweetheart, the widely beloved Norma Sue Hough, on January 15, 1956. Together they had five children.
Lonnie worked as an electrician at C & G Electric in Pecos, TX and contributed to the Mobile Pipeline. After moving to Odessa in 1973, Lonnie worked on the construction of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin before eventually getting his Master's License and opening Young Electric.
Throughout his life, Lonnie enjoyed playing bridge and pestering anyone who would tolerate it. He was authentically himself and renowned for his wit and cheeky sense of humor.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Fay; his daughter, Leta Sue; and his wife of 63 years, Norma Sue Young.
Lonnie Lee is survived by four children Jacky Lee, Gary Dan, Sue Ann, and Michael Alan; his brother, Dick; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren (plus another soon to come).
Viewing will be held at Odessa Funeral Home on Friday April 16th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a grave side service starting at 1:00 pm at the Ector County Cemetery.
