John Turner “JT” Butler, 84 years of age, transitioned to his heavenly home on March 17, 2024 at his Odessa residence. He was born April 26, 1939, to Johnnie B. and Earnest Butler in Vernon, TX. JT was married to Dixie Jewel Butler on February 16, 1957, enjoying 51 years together. They had five children and raised them in Odessa, TX.
JT had a love for family and enjoyed having family gatherings. He loved to fish and travel and loved being silly and getting into trouble for sneaking food to his grandchildren before it was time to eat at family functions. JT had many friends in the community, and everyone loved celebrating at 805 Snyder. Everyone who entered the front door was more than a friend to JT, they were family. JT had an amazing memory and remembered all his children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s birthdays and anniversaries. There wasn’t a year that went by that he didn’t call them on their special days.
