Helen Nunez

She was a hair dresser for 40 years and her patrons were not only clients but her friends. She was a kind, gentle and humble woman whose first priority was her family. She was a Catholic and her faith gave her the strength to care for her husband until his passing. She was always willing to help those in need and never expected anything in return. She loved camping, fishing, sewing, as well as spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, and husband Refugio Nunez.

She is survived by her mother, daughters, Melissa Barajas and husband Frank, Michelle Mendoza and husband Mike, Melanie Serrano and husband Mark, Sonia Cortez and husband Cerjo all of Odessa, brothers, Edward Ornelas (Sophia) of Crane, Elias Ornelas (Sally) of Wickett, Larry Ornelas (Yvonne), Oscar Ornelas (Liz), sisters, Elda Ornelas (Michael), Lisa Sotelo (Ector) all of Monahans, and 8 grandchildren.

Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel.

Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
