Elena Rivera

Elena was born in Odessa, TX on August 16, 1969, to the late Manuel and Alicia Carrasco. She graduated from Permian High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Master of Arts in Bilingual Education/ESL from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She married the love of her life, Dennis, on May 26, 2001; they were married for 22 years.

She was an Assistant Principal for Ector Middle School and dedicated more than 25 years of her life to education. What she enjoyed doing the most though was spending time with her three beautiful children: Enelicia, Mary, and Manuel. She was a servant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a music minister there and actively participated in any and all Church functions.

Elena is survived by her husband, Dennis, daughters, Enelicia and Mary, son, Manuel, sister, Maria (Guadalupe) Bustillos, brother, Manuel Carrasco, brother, Juan Diego (Kristina) Carrasco, brother, Mateo (Mary) Carrasco, and sister, Angelita (Jeff) Reiswig.

Elena is preceded in death by her father and mother, Manuel and Alicia Carrasco, and brother, Benito Carrasco.

Manuel Carrasco, Juan Diego Carrasco, Guadalupe Bustillos, Adrian Bustillos, Jeff Reiswig, and Ricardo Caballero, will serve as pallbearers.

A visitation for Elena will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761.

A rosary will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761.

A funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 612 E 18th Street, Odessa, TX 79761.
