Eldon Eugene Walters

Eldon Eugene Walters, 77, longtime resident of Odessa passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born December 5, 1937 in Odessa. He was a graduate of Odessa High School. He served in the US Army in the late 1950’s. He spent the majority of his life in the oilfield in West Texas. He married Nona Sims in 1961, they had two sons. He liked to play golf and loved his membership with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang. He had served as Texas State President for the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Leona Walters of Odessa; sons, Mark Walters of Crane, TX, Mike Walters of Broken Arrow, OK; daughters –in-law, Anke Walters, & Toni Walters; sister, Anita Martel of Odessa; (4) grandchildren, Brooke Keef, Heather Walters, Clay Walters, Ally Walters; & (1) great-granddaughter, Kylie.

A visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or to your favorite charity.
