Dortha Lampman

Dortha was born in Headrick, Oklahoma on December 23, 1935 to the late Colian Pate Teel and Fannie Aldridge Teel. She graduated from Scioto Rural High School of Wakefield, Ohio.

While working at Groves Drug Store she met her husband Donald where he came for coffee every day. They were married 2 months and 2 days later on December 16, 1955 and were married for 57 years.

Dortha worked for many years in the banking industry. Two of the banks she worked for were State National and Texas Bank.

One of Dortha's and her husband Don favorite things to do together was go to the horse races in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She also loved to volunteer when people needed help. A few of her favorites were helping in cub scouts with her sons, PTA and Sunday School. She loved helping with trunk or treat, kids backpack drive and Wednesday night suppers at First Presbyterian Church. She became a Deacon and later a Elder with the church. Dortha considered the church and its members as her second family.

Dortha was preceded in death by her parents Colian and Fannie Teel. Her husband Donald and son Mark. Brothers Richard (RC) and Billie Gene.

Dortha is survived by her son Steven and wife Lisa, Daphne Sullivan, former daughter-in-law, brothers James Teel and wife Mary, Curtis Teel and wife Cheryl and her sister-in-law Earlene Teel. Granddaughters, Amber and husband Travis Tondre, Stephanie and husband James Jacob King, Kelly and husband Sebastian Garcia and Piper Sullivan. She has three great grandchildren, Blake Austermann, Jack Wyatt Tondre and Charlie King, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Travis Tondre, Jacob King, Blake Austermann and Jack Wyatt Tondre.

A visitation for Dortha will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Drive, Odessa, TX 79761. A graveside / burial service will occur Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E, Odessa, TX 79762. A celebration of life service will follow Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 1401 N Sam Houston Ave, Odessa, TX 79761.
