Debra Marie Wright

Debi was born April 19, 1963, in Scobey Montana and was the daughter of Wilma (Fladager) Blomquist, Granddaughter of Gorden and Marjory Blomquist and the God Daughter of Arnold and Millie Anderson.

Debi grew up and went to school in Peerless and then later moved to Scobey. In 1982, she moved to Casper, Wyoming where she married William (Bill) Ward shortly followed by the birth of her first child, Sonia, in 1983. After a couple years, they all moved to New Mexico where Debra met and married Victor Maldonado and had Jr and Ryan, followed next by Eric. The family then moved back to Montana landing in Great falls where Debi would have Ellina completing her “5 best things she's ever done”. The family then returned to the beautiful big skies of Scobey where she raised her kids. She was a devoted parent, attending every activity she could, and loved watching her family grow one grandchild at a time. In 2015, she met Roger Wright. They quickly became inseparable and married in June 2016. Debi spent the next few years adventuring down South, chasing race cars with the love of her life.

Debra was never shy about telling people about her 5 kids and her 12 grandkids. She was always so proud of them and cherished moments when she had all of her “babies” under one roof, playing cards, games, and laughing till we cried. Debi had one of the biggest hearts. She made lasting impressions on everyone she met. She made lifelong friendships across the country and was always lending a helping hand and a welcoming heart. She gave back to the community by being a foster parent and a host to foreign exchange students.

Debra is survived by her loving husband Roger Wright and Little Dog of Odessa Tx. Her children Sonia Ward and Brian Boothman of Missoula Mt; Jr and Lyndsey Maldonado of Scobey Mt; Ryan Maldonado of Froid Mt; Eric and Shalice Maldonado of Scobey Mt; and Ellina and Shane Clark of Froid Mt. Debi’s grandkids included Hailee, Jewlie, Madyson, Leigha, and Avah Boothman; Angie, Brooklyn, Weston, and Colter Clark; Ariana, Zella, and Dominic Maldonado. Siblings Arnold and Marion Blomquist of Scobey Mt; Marjorie and Michael Hyde of Columbus MS; Gordon and MaryLynn Blomquist of Scobey Mt. Debi’s nieces and nephews Michael Blomquist, Shayne Hyde, Becca Hyde, Natasha Blomquist (Beau Culver).

She was greeted in Heaven by the best Angels, her mother Wilma (Fladager) Blomquist, Grandparents Gordon and Marjory Blomquist, Grandparents Wilhelm and Marie Fladager and God parents Arnold and Millie Anderson and her sister-in-law Jeanette Blomquist.

Services will be held in Scobey, Montana at Scobey Lutheran Church on Friday, March 25th at 1pm, with coffee and bars to follow. A potluck will be held at the Scobey Saddle Club at 5:30pm that evening.
