David Stanley Wallace

David Stanley Wallace passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7th, 2023, at 87. Stanley was born on April 28, 1936, at his grandparents’ home in Midland County. He was the oldest of 4 children of Jess and Sue Wallace.

In 1956, Stanley married his high school sweetheart, Mary Dell Pennington. They graduated from Texas Tech University, and both began their teaching careers. Together, they had one son, David Stanley Jr. They had 55 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed spending time with their family and traveling.

Stanley was a teacher for 33 years in Ector County ISD, where he taught math and cooperative education. After he retired from teaching, he played golf and worked on rental property.

Years after Mary Dell’s passing, Stanley met and Married Linda Mitchell. They enjoyed almost five years together.

Stanley is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dell Wallace, brother Jessy James Wallace, and brother, Bobby Dale Wallace. He is survived by his wife Linda Mitchell of Midland, son David and wife Amber Wallace of Midland, son Joe and wife Jami Mitchell of Tuscan, Arizona, sister Brenda Coffman and husband Jeston Woodruff of Granbury, Texas and seven grandchildren.

The viewing will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, with the funeral to follow at 1:00 at Frank Wilson Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. The graveside will follow at Resthaven in Midland, TX.
