Mutt was born May 11, 1935 to Carl Presley and Thelma Elizabeth Ellis. He was born in Andrews, TX on the Furman Lease.
Mutt served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
After being discharged Mutt returned to Andrews to work with his family at the Andrews Telephone Company.
Mutt loved to coach Little League baseball and coached for many years in Andrews.
He later moved to Odessa, then Midland, where he retired as a Master Electrician from Medical Center Hospital.
Mutt had many hobbies. He loved to collect baseball cards and had quite an impressive collection. He loved baseball and was a Texas Rangers fan.
Mutt was also an avid Bridge player and earned the title of Life Master in 1984. He had a special love for his German Sheppard and his Black lab “Mollie”.
Mutt loved his family and enjoyed cook outs and time spent with his grandchildren.
Mutt is preceded in death by his parents: Carl Presley and Thelma Elizabeth Ellis.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Ellis of Midland, his daughters, Judy Ellis Barnett and husband Robert of Odessa, Sandy Ellis Smith and husband Michael of Odessa. Two grandchildren, Joey Deon Latimer II and Kendall Blair Smith, both of Odessa. Step-son Stanford Curry and wife Trish of Oregon. He is also survived by his brother Robby Norris Ellis and wife Patricia of Odessa and sister Jan Ellis Bilhartz and husband Larry Joe of Bartlesville, OK. Along with many nieces and nephews. Mutt was a very caring and loving father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Deon Latimer, J.J. Lands, Terry Standefer, Randy Standefer Sr., Randy Standefer Jr., C.J. Davis, Alan Copeland and Jose Torres.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27th, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Public and Family Gathering with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel, 1700 N. Jackson, Odessa, TX.
Graveside services will be Thursday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Andrews Old Cemetery in Andrews, TX with Reverend Rick Doyle officiating.
