Belinda Najera Rodriguez, age 55, of Odessa was called to Heaven on Thursday February 10 of 2011 from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas after a two year battle with cancer. Bell was born on May 30, 1955 in Alpine, Texas to Adolfo and Betty Najera. She was their first born and had four younger sisters ,who she loved very much. In November of 1972 she married her lifelong partner Raul Rodriguez who she had known, and said “she loved”, since she was 5 years old. They had three children which they raised here in Odessa. Family was very important to her and she loved surrounding herself with hers. Birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and movie night with the family were some of her favorite things to do. Bell was a very hard worker and retired from Medical Center Hospital after 25 years of service. Since retirement she was able to spend time with her beautiful grandchildren. She enjoyed training them for their next Easter egg hunt as will as attending their sporting events and school programs. She was the one to make sure we had the best spot to watch all the parades with hot chocolate in hand. She always called up all her sisters early in the morning to go have breakfast. She is survived by her husband and love of her life Raul Rodriguez of Odessa, son; Artie Rodriguez and his wife Heather; daughters Lori Rodriguez and Abigail Saenz and husband Louis; parents; Adolfo and Betty Najera of Odessa, five grandchildren; Reygan “Nana” and Rylie “Rylo” Rodriguez, Louis “Baby Louie”, Maddox “Mackie” and Jocelynn “Chachi” Saenz. Her sisters; Nelda Ybarra and husband Hector; Bertha Lopez and husband Margarito Jr.; Velma Vazquez and husband Juan, Sandra Guerra and husband Manuel all of Odessa. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, god children and friends that she loved and that lover her. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday February 14, 2011 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Santiago Udayar officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery in Los Angeles Section. Pallbearers will be Adrian Lopez, Joe Gonzales, Anthony Lopez, Raul “Pistolas” Serrano Jr. Romi Dutchover and Anthony Cobos. Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, godmother, aunt and friend.......”Ama” you will be in our hearts forever.
God say you were getting tired and the cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered “Come to Me” with tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
