William Paul Andrews, a beloved brother, friend, and family man, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at 7:21 AM in his home in Vista, California; He was 69 years old. Born on July 6, 1955, in Fort Devens Army Hospital in Massachusetts and raised in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Willie spent his formative years in Oceanside, California, where he developed a love for sports and the outdoors.
He graduated from Oceanside High School in 1973, a standout on the varsity baseball team. His passion for the game continued as he played college baseball at Mira Costa College. Willie dedicated 25 years of his life to a career in construction, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. He also spent time working at Costco, where his friendly demeanor and genuine spirit touched the lives of many. A true sports enthusiast, Willie found joy in golfing, fishing, and playing men's softball.
He cherished weekends spent in Las Vegas, relishing the excitement and the company of friends. But above all, his greatest joy came from his family. He shared a special bond with his brother, David Andrews, and was the pride and joy of his mother,MaryJo Schutz. He also treasured his father, Al Schutz, and his two beloved dogs, Razor and Mickey. Since 2000, Willie lived with his brother David, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. He was a friend to all who knew him, always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. Willie's legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
He is survived by his brother, David Andrews, his adopted family: Tony Russo and his three children. As well as countless friends and family who will miss his warmth and unwavering spirit. In honor of Willie’s life, a viewing will be on October 23rd, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, in Oceanside, California; the funeral will be at 1:00 pm October 24th at Eternal Hills in Oceanside, California, followed by the reception at 2:30 pm.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local charity of your choice, reflecting Willie’s generous heart.
Rest in peace, dear brother. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
