Services will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Wallman officiating. A graveside service and interment will be held at Laurel Land in Fort Worth, TX.

Born June 10, 1935, in Lincoln, NE. Michael graduated from Englewood High School, (CO), attended the University of Denver, and completed his Accounting Degree through correspondence with I.A.S. of Chicago.
Married to Adrianna Keuvelaar in 1954, they had two sons and lived in Midland, TX ten years where he was Controller of The Midland Reporter-Telegram. He was actively involved at Westminster Presbyterian Church as an Elder, in the choir, and in the community holding many offices in the Association for Retarded Children and the Civitan Club.
Michael worked in the Business Management areas of the Newspaper and Printing industry for 40 years including ten years at All-Church Press in Fort Worth, TX and six years at the Dallas Times-Herald. In 1988 he found what he called a “happy career change” and became Business Administrator at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, TX. During this employment he also served as Treasurer of the Presbyterian Night Shelter and was a member of Fort Worth Rotary Club South.
Adrianna died of cancer in 1993. In their commiseration he fell in love with and married her sister, Paulina, who moved to Fort Worth, TX from Oceanside, CA, where she had lived for 41 years.
Once retired, Michael and Paulina continued active volunteer work at Hemphill Presbyterian Church and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was secretary/treasurer of the Prairie Valley Presbyterian Camp and President of the South-Central Alliance of Churches. The Cooleys found delight in travel and baseball and proudly completed their goal of attending baseball games in all 30 major league ballparks. Michael also enjoyed singing in his church choirs (over 70 years), golfing, playing bridge, and 42.
In 2012, Michael and Paulina moved to Oceanside, CA, where they enjoyed closer proximity to great-grandchildren, and happily served in financial aspects and spiritual growth at Grace Presbyterian Church in Vista, CA for nine years.
Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his first wife, Adrianna, his second son, David Wayne, his brother, Dale, and his parents.
Survivors: Wife of 27 years, Paulina, son, Michael Cooley, Jr. and wife, Iris, of Burleson, TX; stepdaughters, Beverly Onstott and husband, Charles, of Vista, CA, and Deborah Walton and husband, Mark, of Oceanside, CA; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brother Robert of Loveland, CO.
