Bonnie Jean Brummett, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her home, following a short illness. Born April 30, 1946 in Oceana, WV, she was the daughter of the late Maysel Brunty McCarty and Wannie Lee McCarty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Brummett; two sisters, Doris Sue Morgan and Diane Muck; and a brother, Jim McCarty. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diana Newsome and husband, Jesse of Lynco; two sisters, Faye Morgan of Lynco and Lela Mae Crouse of Gary; two brothers, Bobby McCarty of Lexington, NC and JohnnyMcCarty of Myrtle Beach, SC; and two grandchildren, Adrian Newsome and Ethan Newsome. Kevin Stinnett, Jesse Newsome, Aaron Edwards and Ethan Newsome will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to: Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr, Beckley, WV 25801.
