Melio Serafino Cicchiani, age 92, of Ocala, Florida passed away on April 16, 2024 at the E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala, Florida. Melio was known as “Ceck” to all who knew and loved him. He was born on June 2, 1931 in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania to the late Giovanni and Lucia (Bello) Cicchiani.
Ceck was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a tail gunner of the B-52’s.
Melio was Catholic by faith. He spent countless hours fixing antique clocks, playing on the computer and going out to eat.
Ceck is preceded in death by his parents, Giovanni and Lucia Cicchiani; children, Janet and J.H. Cicchiani; sisters, Gena Righettini, Mary Harmoth and Nellie Szymberk; brothers, Geno and Anthony Cicchiani.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Baron Cicchiani; children, Wanda (Jimmy) Cordova, Billy (Carol) Cicchiani, Zina Cicchiani and Nika Pellegrino; stepdaughter, Sabrina Pellegrino and stepson, Enrico Pellegrino; brother, Johnny Cicchiani; four grandchildren, Chase and Lacey Cordova and Ryan and Ashley Cicchiani and one great grandson, Ethan Cordova. Ceck was also survived by many cousins and extended family.
A Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2024 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 Southwest State Road 200, Ocala, Florida. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 Southwest 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 with Military Honors.
