Catherine "Cathie" Ann Sanders

Catherine Ann Sanders, age 67, of Micanopy, Florida passed away, peacefully in her sleep, at her home on March 25, 2023. She was born on October 10, 1955, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Salvatore F. and Dorothy E. Pagliara.

Catherine was affectionately known as “Cathie” to her family, "Mom" to her children, "Gma" to her grand/great grandchildren and “Catie” to everyone else who knew her. She was deeply loved, will be greatly missed and her life will continue to be an inspiration to all she shared it with. She was a Christian by faith and Jesus Christ was #1. She made sure to ask everyone she could “Do you know where you’re going when you leave this world?”

Cathie was a community service leader. She was instrumental to the starting and success of Food for Christ Inc, a nonprofit food ministry based in Micanopy/Orange Lake, Florida. She served on the board, supported it financially, participated in the food distributions and Toys4tots. She also served in prayer, transportation, visitation, and referrals for many in the community. She loved singing in the community choirs and teaching at VBS. Everything Cathie did was because of her love for Jesus Christ and others.

She loved nature and animals. She surrounded herself with her horse, cows, dogs, cats, and chickens. Still the most important part of Cathie’s life, after Jesus Christ, was her family. Possibly her most joyous times were showering her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her love. From her parents to her great grandchild soon to be born, she loved them all with a love that only God could truly understand. When Cathie was asked how she was doing, she would always respond “Blessed & Grateful!” She truly was and evermore shall be “Blessed & Grateful!”

Survivors include her parents, Salvatore F. & Dorothy E. Pagliara; sister, Mary & Robert Conner; brother, Wayne Pagliara; sister, Denise & David; sister, Sally & Ron; daughter, Christina & Howard "David" Ravenscroft; 13 grandchildren, Nacomi & Patrick Gilbert, Robert Gassner (in Heaven), Amy & Drew Takii, Crystal & Caz Tankersley, Cory & Ashley Riddle, Christopher & Geselle Ravenscroft, Faith & Jarred Reeve; 10 great grandchildren, Conner, Bailey, Raina, Avery (in Heaven), Greyson, Arabella, Malachi, Jak, Valor, Remi and one on the way.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11am at Micanopy Christian Fellowship, 4909 SE 165th Avenue, Micanopy, FL 32667.
