Marcus Malone

Marcis Malone of Oakland, California passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Marcis was born on July 29,1944 in Tennessee. The family moved to San Francisco, CA in or about 1945 where he and his seven siblings were raised. The family relocated to Oakland, CA in 1978 in which he lived most of his adult life. Marcis lived out the remainder of his days in Alameda, CA where he was cared for by the loving staff of the Alameda South shore Convalescent Home.

Marcis' love of music led him to becoming an original band member of the Santana Blues Band in the late 1960's. It was one of his greatest accomplishments in which he marveled over his entire life. He contributed by helping write, compose and play percussion.

Marcis was a private person. The accounts of Marcis' life were limited to what he chose to share and albeit few, the songs, stories, drawing and memories all conform to create a beautifully prolific portrait that will forever hang in the hearts of those who admire and truly love him. He left us all with more than just memories, he left us a feeling, a vibe, one that will reverberate for many lifetimes to come (like the beat of his drum).
