Our deepest sympathies & condolences for the loss of Marlene Maye Knutson Imperatrice.

Marlene was the youngest of the six children of Martin and Emma Knutson.
We all have a lot of great memories of my aunt Marlene. She was a very important part of the Martin and Emma Knutson clan. The Knutson clan was fun, loving and gregarious. They always took every opportunity to get together to celebrate any occasion. I have many great memories of birthdays, Christmas, holidays any time we could "get together" with potluck and lots to eat and drink. Aunt Marlene was always fun to be around and she always had a good time at these parties/events. Those were the best and were an integral part of growing up in the Knutson clan. She could be the center of attention. Aunt Marlene was very close to her family, and all of her brothers and sisters. I remember in particular that she was very close with my mother, her sister Maxine. Marlene was a fun, loving kid and enjoyed life to the fullest. I remember the fun times going to Bass Lake and other events. Girls used to wear girdles back then and by accident, I found it fun to snap Marlene’s girdle which always drew a laugh. All of the Knutson girls were a really tough & Hearty bunch. She was totally family oriented and would go to extremes to help family members. We all loved my aunt Marlene!! She was a true Norwegian/Scandinavian. She was a "Viking Maiden Warrior" as were all of the Knutson girls.

Marlene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother gentle, protective, caring & giving! She was gracious & a special person to all of us! She will be missed. She is now at peace with her maker. God bless the Knutson/Imperatrice families & friends and support them in their time of need!
