Marion attended the formerly named James McCosh Elementary and later graduated from Englewood High School. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Jesse James Alexander. Jesse and Marion loved each other tremendously and were married 50 years. To this union, they had three beautiful children Pamela, Brian and Jessica.
Marion worked for Chicago Title Insurance Company and retired after 35 years. Marion had style like no other and a wardrobe admired by many. So much so that she once placed a lock on her closet to stop her daughters from "borrowing" her outfits and purses. She was truly a walking fashion show.
Marion was a jack of all trades. Her creative abilities included jewelry making, wardrobe styling, photography, cooking, and family vacations, just to name a few. She even built two computers from scratch. Marion was also a self-taught interior designer and had the natural ability to decorate a house like no other.
Most of all, Marion enjoyed building her family with Jesse and raising their children. Marion was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Marion loved all of her family and built many special relationships. Some that were very near and dear to her heart was the bond shared with her great niece Michele Walker and her best friend of more than 60 years, Connie Nelson.
She was preceded in death by both parents and husband Jesse in 2017.
To her family and friends, she was a strong and feisty lady. A true fighter that won many battles. On February 25th, 2024, Marion lost her last battle. Throughout her illness, she remained quick-witted, funny, and loving. Marion was the matriarch of the family and will be dearly missed.
She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory, children; Pamela Alexander (Cordell), Jessica Alexander and Brian Alexander; sisters-in-law, Patricia Wilson, Annie B. (Lonnie) Jones; nieces; Margaret Jones and Nicole Harris; nephew, Craig Isom; great nephews, Dion and Dominic Lynch; great nieces Michele Walker and Denise Brown; best friend Constance (Connie) Nelson and a host of other relatives and friends.
