Karen was born May 2, 1940, in Redman, Illinois, was the cherished daughter of Dorothy Dixon and beloved sister to Bill Littleton.
Throughout her life, Karen found joy in many activities, including bocce ball, puzzles, card games such as Mexican Train and Mahjong, and she was renowned for her exceptional cooking. Her legacy will forever be marked by her kindness, boundless love, and a vibrant spirit that brought warmth and happiness to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted son, James Marcanio, her loving daughter, Luann Wilson, and her beloved daughter, Peggy McCarthy. She will be dearly missed by her granddaughters, Samantha and Heather Wilson, and her grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Frankie Urman, and PJ, Matt, Andy, and Meghan McCarthy.
Karen's great-grandchildren—Amelia, Sadie, Makenzie, Liam, Logan, and Nylah—held a special place in her heart, and she was a deeply treasured great-grandmother to them.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Angela Mancilla for the steadfast love and care she provided to “Mama Sue,” and to Linda Bergason for her compassionate devotion, patience, and kindness, which brought comfort and made a lasting difference in Karen’s life.
Karen's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone privileged to have known her. Her love and legacy will continue for generations.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 19th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL.
