Janice Rae Kubicki

Janice Rae Kubicki (née Nye) of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 due to complications from a spinal stroke. She was 76 years old. Janice is survived by her children, Craig (Victoria), Todd (Tara) Kubicki and Leif and Edward Olandese; her siblings, Judith Smith and William (Lisa) Nye. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Bernadine Nye, her sister Sandra Kocolowski, and husbands, Kevin Kubicki and Leif Olandese.

Janice was born on July 17th, 1945 in Clinton, IA. She graduated from Gage Park High School in Chicago, IL in 1963. Janice married Leif Olandese in 1963. They welcomed their first child, Leif, in 1965 and then Edward in 1970. They divorced in 1984. Soon after, Janice met Kevin Kubicki who had two sons, Craig and Todd. They married in 1991 and remained married until Kevin’s passing in 2016. Janice was active in her church. She donated her time to both her church food pantry and the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. She loved to bake and sew and enjoyed sharing her talents with others as well.

A visitation for Janice will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Visitation Saturday, August 28th from 9:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.

Due to COVID restrictions, no food is allowed to be brought into the funeral home. According to Cook County rules effective August 23, 2021 masks are to be worn in all public places.
