James E. O'Neill, 64 of Evergreen Park, IL, formerly of Franklin Park, IL passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2020. He leaves behind his loving wife Caroline (nee Johnson) and his stepsons Nicholas (Cara), Peter (Michelle) and Alexander (Ana) Johnson. He is preceded in death by his father John E. (Jack) O'Neill, Jr., Jim is survived by his mother Frances, and was the dear brother of John (Patricia), Daniel (Kristen), Maureen, Nancy (Harry) Moser and William (Teresa) O'Neill. He was Papa Jim to Nathan, Ian, and Lillie Johnson, along with being Uncle Jimmy to Robert (Denise) Montgomery, Christopher (Shannon) Montgomery, Kelin (Carl) Petersen, Colleen (Thomas) Casterline, Lindsay (Terry) Runyon, Danielle, Taryn, and Brendan O'Neill and Derek Moser. And Great Uncle Jimmy to Isabella, Callie, Ian and Benjamin Montgomery, Madison McCabe, Tyler Runyon, Emmett, Audrey and Owen Petersen.
Jim enjoyed and always lived life to it's fullest becoming a instant friend to everyone he met with his infectious smile and quick wit. He was a loving and loyal friend to all who knew him. Jim was an U.S. Army Veteran serving as Military Police, he also served in Law Enforcement and was a Union Electrician (Local 134). Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, jewelry designing, glass blowing, story telling and hiking with his high school buddies. He will be missed by the many who loved him dearly. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in the future at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, with full military honors.
