After graduating from Fenger High School he continued his education at the University of South Dakota. Gregory was a man of knowledge and could talk endlessly on nearly every subject - cars, sports, politics, and the list goes on. A man of many talents, Gregory was an auto mechanic as a teenager understanding how things work and were put together, he could fix anything. Gregory always loved to cook and made delicious homemade wine. He was an amazing leather crafter and loved fishing. Gregory worked at Motorola on the computer boards for many years. His loved ones could go on and on about what a remarkable man he was.
Gregory is survived by his devoted wife, Eva (Gibson) Richardson. Together they had five loving children, Eva Richardson Jr, September Richardson (Ware), Gregory Braden Richardson, Anbesa Richardson, and Evelyn Richardson. Gregory was a proud grandfather of one grandson, Judah Ware, and a loving brother to Sheila McCriston. He had a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Deloris Lewis and Sarah Winston, and four nephews, Eric Winston, Lawrence "Dinky" Mc Criston, Mason "Sunny" Lewis, and Lionel "Twan" Lewis.
Gregory touched many during his lifetime, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Gregory will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
