Glen M. "Charlie – Creeper" Rosenow, age 70, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born on April 21, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of Earl "Bud" and Elizabeth "Betty" Rosenow. Upon graduation with a Chemical Engineering degree from Purdue University in 1969, Glen went to work for U.S. Steel Corporation at the South Works plant in South Chicago. Shortly thereafter, he found his true passion in the environmental controls department. From that moment on, he made it his life's work spanning over 45 years to ensure that the lakes and streams in Chicago and Northwest Indiana were unharmed by the industrial might of the steel industry. Glen was a pioneer in developing many of the wastewater pollution controls in use in today in steel mills all over the world and was continuing to work as a consultant to the steel industry until his passing. Outside of work, he was equally as passionate, unselfish, and devoted to his family and friends, always prioritizing others ahead of himself. Glen was married to the love of his life, Judy (nee Helpling) on June 13, 1970, and they were married for over 45 years until her death in 2016. Judy inspired him to be the great man that he became, and the tremendous example he set as a beloved husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and devoted friend will have a lasting affect on generations of Rosenows to come. Glen was preceded in death by his wife Judy (nee Helpling) and is survived by his sons Eric (Susan) and Greg (Christina), grandchildren Alex, Ben, Sam, Rebecca, Braden, and William, brother Dale (Marnee), and many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
