Federico P. Arrieta, 83, of Orland Park, IL passed away peacefully at home on January 21st, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was happily married for 33 years to the love of his life, Rosalina Lezada who preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by his loving children, daughter Rosario (Mark Chmielewski) and son Arnold (Shannon Fait). He was a cherished grandfather to Danielle, Mckay, Isabella, Paolo, and Gabriel. He was a loving brother to Teresita, Francesca (Dominador Del Mundo) and brother, Delio (Adorascion Paner) and sister, Violeta who both preceded him in death. He was a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews as well as dear friend to so many.
Federico was born in the Philippines on July 18, 1937 to Delfin and Rosario (Placente) Arrieta. He graduated from the University of Manila with a degree in Business Administration where he played basketball and was a trumpet player for the university band, all on full scholarship. He loved sports, music, singing, playing mahjong, reading, and especially dancing of which he had his own signature move-"the Ped". He defined the term "soccer mom" before there was any, as he was a fixture at his children's many extracurricular and sporting events. More recently as he fought a long battle with End Stage Renal Disease, he always looked forward to daily FaceTime sessions with his loving grandchildren. Federico will be fondly remembered for his warmth, stress-free attitude, kindness, openness, and affection to all those whom he befriended. He will be sorely missed by all. We Love You Dad!
