Elizabeth "Betty" Kathryn Schultz, nee Bale, of Tunnel Hill died unexpectedly at age 88 on April 23 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born on February 6, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert and Margaret Bale, nee Young. Betty graduated from Community High School in Blue Island, IL, class of 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Melvin Schultz. Betty was a long time member of LEAPO. She enjoyed spending time at the Marion Senior center with people who worked there, the ones she did crafts with, and broke bread with. Betty gave 100% to all who knew her. She will be missed.
Betty and Mel raised 6 children, Elizabeth (Til) Knight from Clovis, New Mexico; Charles (Linda) Schultz from Oak lawn, Illinois; Melinda (Al) Skoczylas from San Tan Valley, Arizona; Tia (Mike) Olejniczak from St Charles, Missouri; Deloris (Erick Mack) Schultz from Lake Forest, California; and George (Deb) Schultz from Lockport, Illinois. Also, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her son Jon, sister, Margaret Martin, and brother, Robert Bale III. Surviving siblings are Ray Bale, Linda (Rich) Escherich, and Rodger (Char) Bale.
Visitation for Betty will be from 10-11 AM on Saturday, April 30, at Ridgeland Church, 6343 90th Place, Oak Lawn, where an 11 AM Funeral Service will follow.
