Edward J. Nielsen, age 68, passed away on May 29th, 2018. Loving husband of 43 years to Mary C. Nielsen, nee Morelli; Cherished father to Edward (Regina) Nielsen, Jr., Gina (Ken) Grewe, and Christina (John) Nielsen-Callaghan; Devoted grandfather to Catherine, Taylor, Josh, Valerie, and Johnny; Dear brother to the late Robert (Theresa), Sandra (late Tom), Karen (late Mark), the late Walter, the late Deborah (late Ron), Barbara (Kevin), and Robert (Dawn); Dear step-brother to the late Timothy, Linda (late John), the late Cindy, and Brian; Beloved cousin, uncle, and friend to many. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert Nielsen. Funeral Service to begin at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, 6/5, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 where we will process to St. Terrence Catholic Church, 4300 W 119th Pl, Alsip, IL 60803, for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be on Monday, 6/4, from 3-9 PM, also at the Funeral Home.
