Robert Floyd Deshong

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Floyd DeShong on July 26, 2024. Born on March 4, 1951, Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, integrity, and unwavering work ethic.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Michele DeShong, and his three cherished children: Stephen Cook, Virginia DeShong, and Brian Cook. He was the proud grandfather of four wonderful grandchildren: Sydney, Nathan, Brandon, and Jackson, who brought immense joy to his life.

Robert was one of six siblings and is survived by his brothers, Larry DeShong and Calvin Brandt. His honesty, dedication, and hard-working nature were admired by all who knew him. He was known for being "honest to a fault" and was a pillar of strength and support to his family and friends.

A devoted family man, Robert's legacy of love and commitment will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace, Robert. You will be cherished forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Interment private.
