Happy bday Uncle John!  We all love you!!!

Chef was a great man. He left a lasting impression. He took care of me as a dishwasher. I enjoyed my time working for him. He introduced me to casinos and I still enjoy going to them. I just found out about your passing.

One of the kindest, most hard-working, and loving gentleman that I was fortunate enough to have met in my life. I went to work for him at Cagney's when I was 18 years old and couldn't wait to finish up my shift to eat one of his amazing meals. He made the best stuffed lobster tail and crab Imperial that I've ever had in my lifetime. He introduced me to his family, mainly Mr. John, Stevie, and Jimmy, and his Mr. Sikalis's beautiful wife, Linda. He always made me smile and treated me like one of the family. My Uncle Frank knew him and he would come by The Golden Horn, later known as Signatures, and have a few cocktails and hang out. Always with a smile! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time of loss.  He will be missed greatly, however, never forgotten. God Bless!  

Mr John would always feed you and make sure that you didn't need anything when I met him in the 90s I was scared of him to be honest.Then once i would see him on a regular i respected  him to the fullest great guy and a true family man Rip Mr John..

POP! What can I say.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your amazing family these past 14 years.  When I first met your (GIRL) Kim and Steve I got more than a friend.  I was blessed with the most Loving and Kind family that welcomed me with open arms. Not just because I was the best dishwasher at all the parties.  Thank you for the LOVE and Wonderful memories that I will forever hold in my Heart!!  Missing you like crazy!! Until we meet again!

We had so many fun and happy memories with this wonderful man. Our trips to Atlantic City - Ocean City - North Carolina were all good times! Some of the best times were when Pop and Debbie came over every Thursday. Steve would steam crabs and the four of us would play cards and laugh for hours. Steve and I love and miss you.

Love you Dad a MasterChef that could out cook anyone. You were so good Dad that when I joined the Marine Corps they made me a Mos 3371 which was a field combat cook with the 2nd battalion 10TH Marines 
artillery Camp Lejune. Dad I hear people say Big John told me the recipe but it just didn't come out the same. The one thing you told me if you want it to be good there is one ingredient that doesn't come in a bottle or can it is LOVE that's what makes it perfect I will never forget Dad until we are together again 💕✝️

It’s so hard to pick one or two happy memories when you’ve had 28 years of them. But here’s one of my favorite stories about his cooking.  We owned Cagney’s and I came to work and walked through the bar and it was happy hour. A couple of our regulars stopped me to tell me how much they were enjoying the free buffet with crab cakes on it. I ran back to the kitchen to see if Johnny had lost his mind giving away crab cakes!  He handed me one and asked if it was good. I said yes why?  He said “I never told anyone they were crab cakes! They are sauerkraut cakes”!  And they were sauerkraut cakes but they tasted like crab cakes!  That man sure new how to cook!!

I loved that Dad I am so glad I was there with you I wish I could have been there with the Greek Priest. But I did get to pray with you and over you and said to you that you can go be with the Lord. To Day is very sorrowful  day last night after my Father had the Greek Priest come and pray over him and my Dad wanting to respond to him hearing him my Dad give up his Spirit to be in Paradise with the Lord Jesus Christ and all his family and friends who had faith and trusted in God. I am so thankful to God that my Dad in his last years in life come to know a deeper faith in Jesus Christ for God is good all the time to those who believe and put thier trust in God's promises not by are works for we all have sinned and come short of the Glory but by faith in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ we can have forgiveness  not by works but threw faith less any man should boast.Priase You O Mighty God Praise your Holy Name Praise You O Mighty God And All That Is Within Me Praise The Father The Son And the Holy Ghost ✝️ and forget none of His benefits  Amen 🛐Dad enjoy for now you are with Christ who will dry every tear see you soon Dad when Lord also calls me home✝️

John, Your card playing buddies miss you so very much. We had a toast to you while playing cards last night.  Thank you for all the fond memories and all the food you prepared for us!!  You were a true treasure that all of us will forever carry in our hearts.  Rest easy, Buddy, We Love You!!! 💕

Red Eye Yacht Club  We Ordered Crabs and were so SURPRISED When Mr. John brought us out 2 appitizer plates. One with his famous Crab Balls. He loved doing special things for people.

Oh Dad, how much fun we had, thank you so much for all the memories and laughs. Love You So Much, can’t wait to see you again one day. 

I met John in 2016 when I moved here at Chapel Springs, and we found out that we knew a lot of the same people from the nightclub days, after that we started playing gin almost every day.  Then we started a poker game on Tuesday and Friday, and he would always make his crab cakes for us, and would not take a penny for them when asked. Very, very nice guy and friend.

One of my favorite memories with Uncle John, Debbie and Gussie, Rob and I.  Bethany Beach, long weekend.  Playing double deck pinnacle, enjoying his delicious crab cakes, Greek potato’s and  clams casino.  To top it, Rob and I won against John and Gussie. Hehe. It was a fun weekend.  Rob and I have many great memories of this great man over the last 50 plus years since, I’ve known him.  A family inspiration and a Matriarch who wanted everyone to always be happy.  

I shared a lot of wonderful memories with Mr. John and all of his family.  God Bless,

Kim and I will miss uncle John  emensly . We love  him and his kind heart ,not to mention all the years he fed us his fabulous crab cakes. He had a rough life but made the best of it anyway. And as usual his favorite saying “”I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU “. Miss you and know you are with your family in heaven.  Love Kim  & Mike Vatakis

Our sincere sympathy and condolences for all.  I’ll never forget Mom living with you and what good care of her you and Linda did. 

Bert and I retired on the same day -July 1.2016. We took a trip across the country to see family. One of our first stops was Baltimore to see Aunt Angie and Uncle John.  We went out for crab cakes for dinner. Uncle John was special to the Harman kids, loved until the end
