John Barry Jones

On July 16, 2014, John Barry Jones passed away. He was the beloved husband of Kimberly Ann Jones (nee Mioduszewski); devoted father of Nathen Joseph Jones; loving son of Frank L. Jones and Frances Lynne Kahler and her husband Mark; cherished son-in-law of Joe and Pam Mioduszewski; dear brother of Frank and his wife Dawn, Christopher and his wife Chris, Chad and his wife Krista, and John's late sister Tammy; loving brother-in-law of Karen Wells and her husband Robert. Jones joined the Air Force in 1988 and transferred to the Maryland Air National Guard in 1992. He earned the rank of Technical Sergeant and worked full time for the 175th Wing where he recently transitioned from an assignment as a mechanic to the wing's proposed Cyber Operations Group. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2006, 2010 and 2012 as a mechanic. During his 22 years of service TSgt Jones earned the Campaigns Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, South West Asia Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, awards for his dedicated work and commitment to the United States Air Force.

Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236, on Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
