Irene Edna Wirtz (nee Rutkowski), age 94, of Parkville, MD passed away on May 16, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Harvey W. Wirtz, Jr.; devoted mother of Gary M. Wirtz and his wife Joanne, Lisa Schepers, and the late Harvey “Kip” Wirtz, III and his late wife Beverly; loving grandmother of Carrie, Jennifer, Nichole, Jessica, Kelly, and Jayna; cherished great-grandmother of Cameron, Stephen, Jayden, Jackson, Bentley, Sara Jo, Julianna, Emma, Joanna, Caden, Colton, Ava, and Charlotte; dear sister of Conrad Rutkowski, Marie Mullen, Dorothy Kraus, the late Gerald “Jerry” Rutkowski, the late William Rutkowski, the late Richard Rutkowski, and the late Lawrence Rutkowski.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 3-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10 A.M., at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 8030 Bradshaw RD, Kingsville, MD 21087. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Irene's name to St. Stephen Catholic Church.
