Dad, not a day goes by I don't think of you or miss you. I still feel your presence every day in my veins, in my heart, and in my soul. I miss you, but I know you're still here. Living every day to make you proud. Today would have been your birthday.

My nephew, Eddie Three, as we often called him when he was growing up, was the second son of my deceased older brother, Edward George Sacco, Jr. His father and I were close. Eddie and I were not. But I recall once, when he was around twelve or so and playing baseball in Junior High School. He was apparently having trouble learning the mechanics of hitting a baseball, so his Dad brought him to see me, since I'd played baseball in high school, college and every summer in between, to see if I could teach him a bit about hitting. I don't recall what I showed him; something to do with proper stance at the plate and footwork when swinging at the pitch. I never knew if it helped, but suspect that it didn't, because he soon stopped playing baseball and went on to develop other interests.
Later in life, he became known to all who knew him, as an intelligent, kind, generous man. He and his wife, Kathy, bought that home in Kingsville, to provide more room for their children, but soon after, Kathy's mother needed a place to stay, so he immediately re-designed a portion of the downstairs level as an apartment for her, which she happily occupied until her recent death.
I will always remember him as interested in and helpful to his wife and his family. At times, I marveled that he had time to do it all, including his job, his taking care of the outside of the home and his coaching of girl's softball in the Kingsville Rec Council. 
I'm so sorry for your loss, Kathy and kids. 
And may Eddie, husband and father, rest in peace. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

“Can’t cry hard enough” is how the song goes.

It wasn’t supposed to end like this. You weren’t supposed to die exactly as dad did.  At 55. Dad at 56. You weren’t supposed to leave behind a wife and six children in the same way that dad left mom and the seven of us. 

Thirty-three years ago, you were 22. College grad. New job. Then dad died. Picking up where older siblings left off as helpers and providers, you stepped into dad’s shoes.  Pat, the youngest, was 16. He described how you threw your arms around Mom as she crumpled into tears when dad passed. At that moment you became a hero to him.  Did you ever know that?   Your arms have been around Mom ever since - the home repairs, the late-night plumbing emergencies, and, before you started your own family - mowing her lawn, rides to church, errands, groceries, cash, mortgage payments and on and on. As for us, your six brothers and sisters, we can each itemize the many ways you have been a listening ear, ensured younger siblings had school supplies and attended their practices and games, spotted folks for cash, covered bills, made pickups and drop-offs to and from the airport, loaned your car, etc.  You were always rearranging your schedule to accommodate us.  For 33 years, you supported not one, but in many ways, two families.

In Mom’s later years, as I assumed POA duties, you were a strong and steady backup. Regarding her care, we were always on the same page when it came to managing time, money and resources.  You seemed to check in when I most needed it.

And now your gone.

I’m traveling along this bridge of grief. Shock is at one end. It’s large and dark. It’s heavy. Acceptance - supposedly at the other end- is nowhere in sight. 

In Henry Scott Holland’s poem “Death is Nothing at all” a person who has died counsels “I have only stepped away to the next room.” That thought is comforting.  I can only bear to think of you as nearby, out of sight. Certainly not gone forever.

He was my softball coach when I was in elementary school. Coach Sacco was a generous, compassionate, supportive, and kind coach. I never had a bad day at softball with him as my coach, and I’m sure the rest of the team can relate. To his family, you are in my prayers. I hope you find comfort in remembering that he lived a good life and is at peace now. Be well.

I am so sorry for your loss. The Sacco family will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for the fellowship today and for taking me to the Green turtle. The funeral is tomorrow.  I really had a such a great final memory of Mr. Ed. The last thing he did was buy me McDonald's.  🙂 I also remember how patient he was when my son was residing in his house. God Bless the Sacco family and please welcome Mr. Ed into Your Kingdom. Rest in Peace. 

I had the opportunity to work alongside Ed for 3 years at CVP. He was such a ray of sunshine and welcomed everyone with his smile, caring attitude and awesome personality.

We are very sorry to hear of Ed's sudden passing.  He was a great coach and leader for Kingsville Softball over many years.  He will be greatly missed.  I know how much he loved coaching the girls the game of softball and life.  You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Sacco family. It’s been some years now, but Ed coached our daughters Courtney Pond and Miranda Mohan. Both continue to play softball in high school. Their love for the game started in Kingsville and Ed’s enthusiasm and coaching is a big part of that.  Sports have always been a big part of our family’s life, and when we talk about times gone by,  Ed is always remembered fondly.   So sorry for your loss, may God bless your family.

Ed was a great coworker and friend. He always had a great story to tell and a laugh to share. My heart goes out to his family,  who he loved dearly and talked about often. He was a light of positivity and I will greatly miss working with him. 

I worked with Ed and his dedication was clear, he always had a funny story about his family which he so dearly loved. His visit to Kenya, his childhood in Baltimore, were events he constantly talked about; he was a living GPS, we will miss his sincere laughter and the soda opening at 12pm.
Ed was a good and friendly man, full of values and always willing to share information.

I was fortunate to have known Ed while working at CVP.  He was such a friendly and wonderful colleague.  Please accept my sincere condolences. 

I will miss Ed's chaotic work hustle. Always on the move to one meeting or another, one child pickup or event, an appointment or airport run.. Ed's stories were endearing and full of heart, and clearly illustrated his devotion to family and friends, even in times of challenge. I loved hearing about his cross-country adventures as a student, travelling abroad to compete. He lived and loved in the past and present versions of his family, and I feel lucky to have worked with him.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. Uncle Ed was such a caring positive member of our family. He would always take the time to ask how I was doing, how my kids were, or what was new in my life at family functions. He loved you guys so much, and that was evident to anyone that knew him. I have worked with Ed for three years, he was a wonderful colleague, very gentle  and caring , always gives  help when people need. It was a joy to work with him. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I worked with Ed over the past few years since he joined CVP.  I sat diagonally across from him for most of that time and we shared many a conversation about family and personal lives.  It was always evident to me that Ed was deeply devoted to his family.  He frequently talked to the entire office about his family and displayed immense pride in everyone.  You certainly must know how proud he was because I could tell since the first time we spoke.  My deepest condolences to the Sacco family.  Ed and his cheerful personality will certainly be missed by the entire team.    

I worked with Ed since 2019, and we both presented for our company at the end of 2019.  I enjoyed working with Ed - he was fun to talk to, always shared his knowledge, and a great teammate. We would talk about football and sports - as well as about our work. My condolences go out to his family and friends.  His good humor, good values and the willingness to share them with others are something I will always remember.

I was new to CVP this year, and Ed was one of the first people I met when I walked into the office. He was so friendly, kind and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable in the new office. Every time he walked past my desk, he would smile, say hello & take time out of his day to see how I was adjusting to my new job. I will miss seeing his smiling face & positive energy. 
To Ed's family, friends & loved ones: I am so sorry for your loss. I truly believe our loved ones who have passed are always with us and watching over us every single day. 

Ed was easy-going, kind-hearted, friendly, easy to talk to and always had a positive outlook.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Sacco family in this sad and difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed on a couple of projects. When I was working late in the office, Ed was always there to lend a supportive ear. He was always positive about all aspects of life, family, and work, which I appreciated knowing positive energy was right around the corner. We will all miss Ed.

There are no words to describe this loss. Mr. Ed was like a second dad to me. He was ALWAYS doing for others. To Kathy, Belinda, Rob, Charlie, Katie, Emma, Valerie, I am so sorry for this unbelievable loss of your husband and father. May he truly rest with God & all those gone before Him.

We first met Ed and Kathy at St. Thomas More Church in Baltimore, MD at the Young Adult group led by Deacon Jim Mann with now retired Bishop Fr. Victor Galleone. They were a lovely couple who then became our friends.  Kathy and I shared a few pregnancies at the same time, and my heart goes out to her and their lovely children. 

We all loved Coach Ed. He was the best girls softball coach ever. Mary Kate we are so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Our hearts and prayers to you all. 💜🙏🏻 Alayna, Michelle and Mike Meekins.
