BROWN, Rita Lloy (Milan), 89, of Norwood, MA passed away on May 29, 2013 at the Blaire House in Milford, MA, after a period of declining health. She is survived by Robert Brown, her husband of 27 years, and was predeceased by her husband Donald Lloy, who passed away in 1982.
Born in Milford, MA, the daughter of the late John and Mary Milan, she was raised and educated in Milford and later moved to Franklin, where she lived for many years after which she moved to Braintree.
She worked at the Quincy Visiting Nurse Association in Quincy before moving to Norwood, and was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital until last year. She was also an active member of the Norwood Senior Center.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Gib Lloy and his wife Susanne of Medway and a daughter, Donna Puopolo and her husband Dr. Anthony Puopolo of Holliston, three step children, Bob Brown of Marlboro, Margie Ryan of Marshfield and Beth Brown of Walpole. She was also the mother of the late Bonnie Lloy Stone and Diane Lloy. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was the sister of the late John Milan, Joseph Milan, Sister Joseph Maria (Helen Milan), and Catherine Donegan.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, June 1, from 8:00-9:30am at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Norwood Senior Center, 275 Prospect Street, Norwood, MA 02062.
