James, who went by Jim, proudly served in the US Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. When he returned from his service he attended Northeastern University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business. He worked for over 30 years for Community News Dealers a division of the Boston Globe.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his loving family. In his retirement he cherished attending his grandkids sporting events and school events.
Jim is survived by his children Kristin Kelley of Norwood, James Crowley and his wife Tricia of Milton, and Patrick Crowley and his wife Sara of Braintree; his former spouse Marilyn Girling; sisters Mary Kilroy of Franklin and Claire Wilde of Weymouth, and his grandchildren Jack Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Ben Kelley, Keenan Crowley, Kiera Crowley, Conor Crowley, Colin Crowley, Griffin Crowley, and Emma Crowley. He is predeceased by his sisters Helen Williamson and Frances Cunningham.
A visitation service for James will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:30am at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, MA. Following the visitation will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church 176 Washington St. Walpole at 11:00am. A committal service will be held at Bourne National Cemetery.
