It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Harold J. Hill. He was born June 9, 1927 and passed on October 28, 2019 at the age of 92. Harold, also known as Jiggs, is survived by his wife of 75 yrs, Wanda Hill. They were married in New Berlin and shortly after that he went to work for the electrical union IBEW 1249 in Syracuse, N.Y. He retired in 1989 after 44 yrs, and has been a member of the union for 74 yrs.
After retirement his wife suggested he get a part time job and he worked for Burns International Security Services at the Procter & Gamble facility in Norwich, N.Y. for several years. In his younger years Jiggs was an amateur stock car racer with his brother Lewis Hill and Gene Cole both of New Berlin. He drove car #43 until his wife suggested he stop.
He loved his family and was always there with a helping hand if needed. He is survived by his wife Wanda, and four children: Suzanne, Michael, Jamie, and Robert. He is predeceased by three children: Betty Ann, Barbara, and Harold Jr. (Skippy). He was a very proud grandfather to Mark Forrest, Rindy Cummings, Jeffrey Guy, Jackson Porter, Jeanie Romanowski, Amber Hill, Jacqueline Hill, James Merritt, Carolyn Merritt, David Gotthardt, and several great grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery, Whitesboro, N.Y. on November 14, 2019 at 2pm. Jiggs will forever be loved and remembered by his family and friends.
