Richard Cordova

Rick was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 4, 1957 to the late Richard and Theresa “Tessie” Cordova. The family moved to Norwich, Connecticut in 1965. After graduating from Norwich Free Academy Rick enlisted in the Marine’s and traveled to Okinawa, Japan, was stationed in California for a time before driving cross country to settle down in the Norwich area. Rick’s career spanned a variety of positions in the printing industry, before working at Foxwood’s in different positions and handling dispatch for American Ambulance. Rick loved his annual visits with his wife to Newport, Rhode Island, as well as, the many years they traveled to Hawaii. Rick and his wife shared a love of football and their marriage survived despite Ronnie being a Dallas Cowboys fan while Rick was a lifelong NY Giants fan.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Cordova.

He will be missed by his wife; his son, Christopher Cordova, of Norwich, CT; his sister, Beverly Botchis, and her husband, Mathew, of Norwich, CT; his brother, Greg Cordova, and his wife, Nancy, of Colchester, CT; his four nephews, Richard Gale and his wife, Penny, of Willimantic, CT; Mathew Gale and his wife, Kellie, of Colchester, CT; Alex Botchis and his wife, Joy, of Wallingford, CT; Timothy Cordova and his wife, Suzanne, of Colchester, CT; and his niece, Crystal Jahns, and her husband, Dwayne, of Colchester, CT.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Yantic Fire Department, 151 Yantic Road, Yantic, CT 06389 who made numerous trips to Rick’s home over the years and were always patient, attentive and always treated him with kindness.
