Richard Contino

Bozrah- Richard Contino, age 76, of Bozrah, passed away on January 23, 2018 at Willam W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born in New London on June 18, 1941 to the late Joseph and Mary (Machado) Contino. He married Barbara (Brusseau) Contino on August 10, 1968 at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Norwich.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a Chemical Operator from Pfizer after 31 years. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making wooden toys. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them his special talents.

Besides his loving wife, Richard is survived by a son Richard Contino of Bozrah, a daughter Lisa Cook of Lebanon, and grandchildren Allison Cook, Mackenzie Cook, Kasey Cook, Richard Contino, and Cody Contino. He also leaves behind a sister Lillian Hershey of FL., and brothers Raymond Contino of New London, John Contino of Bozrah, George Contino of New London and Larry Contino of TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bozrah Centre Congregational Church, 19 Bozrah Street, Bozrah CT 06334 on February 17th at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Bozrah Centre Congregational Church.
