Nancy Jane Longo

Nancy was born February 20, 1939 in Norwich, the daughter of the late Russell and Gladys (Cruthers) Aldrich.

She married her high school sweetheart Robert W. Longo on June 25,1960. He passed away September 15, 2014.

Nancy was a stay at home mom, caring for her three daughters. Before children she had fond memories of working at Uncas Pharmacy in Norwich.

Nancy was a very strong woman of faith. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich. Her family was extremely important to her and she could always be seen side by side with her husband Robert . Together they enjoyed traveling to the National Parks in their motorhome. Upon his illness, she was his caregiver for over 12 years.

She enjoyed gardening and knitting and was a nature lover who especially enjoyed being at the beach.

She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Stangle and husband Karl, Diane Allard and husband Dean and Judy Bilda and husband Kerry, all of Norwich. She also has a brother, Russell Aldrich of Farmington, CT, along with 7 grandchildren: Josh Allard, Katherine Thomas, Mary Allard, Evan and Hayden Bilda and Ian and Alex Stangle, and one great granddaughter Cecelia Thomas. She is also survived by her loyal, longtime dog and companion Charlie.

In addition to her parents and her husband Robert, she was also predeceased by her sister Mary Lou Barry.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Nancy’s family. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
