Mr. Lawrence J Pinette

He was born in Hollis, Maine on July 27, 1938 to the late Joseph and Luella (Prentiss) Pinette. After attending school he joined the Navy serving his country until his honorable discharge. He was a career police officer for the Town of Groton also traveling and competing on it’s pistol team. He enjoyed his classic Mustangs, was an avid muscle car enthusiast, watched NASCAR and the Red Sox faithfully, and was the last charter member of the Thames River Cribbage Club. His greatest joy however, was spending time with his family.

Larry was predeceased by his previous wife Jean (Trolan). On August 10, 2002 he married his beloved Diane (Kelly) Niddrie Pinette at St. Joseph Church in Occum, CT. He is survived by his wife Diane, children; Terri & Mike Burrow, Jeff & Carol Sharp, Sean & Kelly A. Niddrie Sr., Mehgan & Andrew Sims, Kelly M. Niddrie and her Fiance Luke Minzy, one sister; Yvonne and her husband Andrew Smith of Arundell, ME., 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 11 siblings.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6pm-8pm at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11am at the Norwich Worship Center, 165 Lawler Ln., Norwich, CT beginning with Military Honors. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of S.E. CT. or VFW Post #10004 in Jewett City where Larry was a lifetime member.
