Joan Marie Frechette

Joan was born on August 15, 1935 in Norwich, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Guinan) Boucher.

Joan married Arthur on February 1,1962. Joan and Arthur were married until his death in October of 2014. Arthur and Joan welcomed seven children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren into their loving family.

Joan along with Arthur owned and operated Twin Cleaners in Old Saybrook and Norwich until their retirement.

Joan cherished the times spent with her family, some of her favorite activities included having ice cream parties, casino visits and her Sunday trips to find the best lobster rolls. Joan enjoyed when she was traveling with Kelly, Artie and Mary to a casino playing her favorite Wonder Woman game. Joan spent the last years of her life living with Kelly and Artie who provided her the ability to stay at home and receive the best care possible.

Joan was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Norwich.

Remaining to cherish Joan’s memory are her children: Joan Signorello and her husband Gaetano, Jean Mcgran, Karen Gould, Kelly Frechette, Kim Frechette and Charles Gendreau, Arthur Frechette and Hope O’Bryon. Joan’s grandchildren- Justin Gould (Tina Francis), Samantha Halton (Travis), Katherine Gould, Paige Olsen (Kyle Higgins), Dylan Frechette, Kendall O’Bryon and Cody O’Bryon. Joan’s great grandchildren- Lilianna and Brantley Halton, Javier Cardoza, Sophia Wilcox and Mia Gould. Joan also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Preceding Joan in death was her husband Arthur, parents Joseph and Katherine Boucher, son Joseph, brother Thomas Boucher, sisters- Elizabeth Chabot, Helen Bailey, Theresa Moreno, and son in law John Mcgran.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at William W Backus Hospital for the care she received on her most recent visit there.

Calling hours/visitation for Joan will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, 213 Broadway, Norwich, CT.
